The suspension comes as river flows serving the city remain well below official alert thresholds.
Emcali will implement a 12-hour suspension of water supply in the Alfonso Barberena neighbourhood of Cali, running from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on 29 September 2026.
The utility has repeated a public request for all residents across Cali to reduce water use and avoid unnecessary waste.
On 28 September, the Meléndez river was recorded at 0.48 cubic metres per second. This is less than half the 0.90 m³/s minimum alert threshold for the river.
Emcali confirmed on 27 September that both the Cali and Meléndez rivers remain at critically low flow levels, even after recent local rainfall.
